Dear Beloved,
It’s raining outside this morning, which could mean two things: change is coming or more heartbreak is coming. I’m not going to lie, the way the clouds are covering the sun, it looks like more pain is coming. But I want to tell you something: even if the sun doesn’t come out today, tomorrow, or the day after, God will always meet you there and bring the light with Him.
Let’s talk about Naomi in the book of Ruth. Naomi begins the story with her husband, Elimelech, and their two sons. Because there was a famine in Bethlehem, the family moved to Moab. Then Naomi’s husband died. Her sons married Ruth and Orpah, but around ten years later, both of her sons died too.
So Naomi had lost her husband and both of her children.
When it seemed like she wouldn’t make it out and the sun wouldn’t shine again, she still had Ruth walking beside her. In the midst of her grief, Naomi gained a daughter who chose not to leave her.
So when the rain is pouring down, the clouds are covering the sky and you can’t see the sun, remember: God can still bring light into the middle of your darkness.
The clouds might cover the sun for a while, Beloved, but that doesn’t mean the sun isn’t still there.
Until the next letter, Beloved.

Before you go…
I’ve left a song below for you to listen to. Whatever your rain looks like right now, let this be your reminder that God is still with you, even when it rains.
